Online booking and deposits

Take hunt deposits online.

With online booking and deposits, hunters pick a hunt, choose open dates and pay the deposit on your website. The money goes to your own Stripe account, the hunter gets a receipt, and you get the booking. No phone tag in between.

For the hunter

How a hunter books a hunt on your site

A hunter can go from “that looks good” to “deposit paid” in a few taps, at 11 p.m., without calling you.

  1. Picks a hunt

Each hunt shows species, season dates, days in camp, what’s included, the price and spots left.

  2. Chooses dates and party size

Only open dates can be picked. A full hunt switches to a waitlist instead of a dead end.

  3. Pays the deposit

By card or digital wallet through Stripe. Your cancellation policy is shown before he pays.

  4. Gets a confirmation

An email with the hunt, dates, deposit paid, balance due date and how to reach you.

For you

What online booking and deposits give you

The money is yours

Deposits go straight into your Stripe account and out to your bank. We never touch the money and we don’t take a commission on bookings.

Every booking, in writing

Each deposit sends you an email with the hunter, the hunt, the dates and party size, and it’s listed in your website dashboard.

Your rules, per hunt

Set the deposit as a flat amount per hunter or a percent of the price, the balance due date, and the policy shown at checkout.

Spots and waitlists

Show how many spots are left. When a hunt fills, its button becomes a waitlist, so you have names ready when someone cancels.

Phone bookings still work

Booked a hunter on the phone or at a show? Send a Stripe payment link for the deposit instead of waiting on a check.

Secure by design

Card numbers go into Stripe’s payment form and are never stored on your site. Refunds are a couple of clicks in Stripe.

Fees

What Stripe charges on a hunt deposit

Stripe’s standard U.S. rate is 2.9% plus 30 cents per successful card charge. International cards add 1.5%, and currency conversion adds 1%. Stripe bills that fee, not us.

Questions

Booking and deposit questions

Do I need my own Stripe account?

Yes. Deposits go into a Stripe account in your business name, so the money and the customer records are yours. We help you open it and connect it during the build. Stripe has no setup or monthly fees on its standard pricing; you pay per successful charge.

When does the deposit money reach my bank?

For U.S. accounts, Stripe says funds typically settle in 2 business days, and your first payout usually takes 7 to 14 days after your first live payment. You can choose daily, weekly or monthly payouts in your Stripe dashboard.

What happens if a hunter cancels?

Your cancellation and refund policy is shown before the hunter pays, so there are no surprises. If you do refund, you issue it from your Stripe dashboard in a couple of clicks. Stripe doesn’t charge a fee to refund a card payment, but it also doesn’t return its original processing fee.

Can hunters pay the balance online too?

Yes. The balance can be paid the same way, through a Stripe payment link or invoice that we set up with you, so you’re not chasing checks in August.

Is it secure?

Card numbers are typed into Stripe’s secure payment form and never stored on your website or seen by us. Your site runs on HTTPS, and we keep WordPress and its plugins updated.

Can you add booking to the website I already have?

Tell us what your site runs on and we’ll tell you straight whether booking can be added to it or whether a rebuild makes more sense. The free site audit is a good place to start.

Put a “Hold a spot” button on every hunt.

Online booking and deposits can be added to any build we do. So tell us how many hunts you run, and we’ll quote it within one business day.
